About sleep training
Sleep Sanity is informational, not medical advice. Talk to your pediatrician before starting any sleep-training approach.
Is sleep training safe?
Structured, age-appropriate approaches with timed check-ins are widely used and studied. Your pediatrician is the right person to confirm it's a good fit for your baby.
Isn't letting my baby cry harmful?
This plan isn't cry-it-out. You put your baby down awake and check in at set intervals, so they're never left indefinitely.
Will my baby feel abandoned?
You keep showing up briefly, calmly, on a schedule. The routine and the check-ins are what make it predictable for them.
How long does it take?
It varies, and we won't promise a number. Many families see a change within a week or two; the charts show the trend either way.
Do I still feed at night?
Often yes, especially early on. The plan includes a night-feed weaning schedule you can follow when you and your pediatrician are ready.
What about teething, illness, or travel?
Pause, comfort your baby, and pick the plan back up when things settle. A few off nights don't undo your progress.
When should I start?
Most families start between 4 and 6 months, once their pediatrician is comfortable with it.
It's not working. What now?
Check consistency first: same bedtime, same routine, same check-in intervals. If nothing shifts after a couple of weeks, talk to your pediatrician.
